SPECIAL PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Planting Seedlings of Learning

Annie Wise (far right), a third-grade student at Maybeury Elementary School in Henrico County, is excited about helping her teacher, Meredith Traynham, plant the tree seedling that they received from Project Plant It!, a program developed by Dominion to educate children, plant trees and improve the environment. Annie and her classmates, along with more than 27,000 elementary students in Virginia, are learning about trees with SOL-based lesson plans and other educational materials that teachers received earlier this year. Each student will get a tree seedling to plant at home on Arbor Day, April 29. Since 2007, Dominion has distributed more than 100,000 tree seedlings to students in seven states. To download lesson plans and fun outdoor activities, or to play games and view videos about how to plant and care for trees, visit
