FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award 2009 - FBI Announcement

The Director’s Community Leadership Award was created in 1990 as a way for each field office to publicly recognize individuals or organizations that have made a tremendous difference in combating crime, drugs, terrorism, and violence in their local communities.

Tinh duc Phan owns and operates four related businesses out of Hanover County, Virginia.
His company, PNC Industries, is one of the few U.S. companies making antiterrorist, force-resistant windows used by schools and military bases.
In 2004, Mr Phan began the Asian American Business Alliance Center as a useful resource for immigrants and other minorities to improve their community through education and involvement.
Tinh Phan is Chairman of the Virginia Asian Foundation and Chairman of the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce.

Award Overview:
The Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce, adhering to the mission of supporting Asian American business entrepreneurship in Virginia has established a Scholarship Program that awards scholarships to qualified students attending accredited Virginia colleges and universities. Scholarship funds awarded to students are granted to support their academic study activities.
Students from any major related to business, marketing, management, international business/affairs, law, and all other related fields are eligible to apply.
In its second scholarship award program year, Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce through the Virginia Asian Foundation will award three (3) scholarships to three (3) qualified and most deserving students. The awards are:First prize: $1000,00, second prize: $750.00, and third prize: $500.00. All scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Virginia Asian Chamber Gala to be held on Wednesday December 1s, 2010 at the historic Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. Students must be present to receive the scholarship awards.

A complete application (see bellow) which must be received by VACC by the Deadline of: 5pm on Friday October 8th
A cover letter A copy of a college faculty’s letter of recommendation A copy of a current official or unofficial transcript A brief resume
